MacroSolve Signs 5-Year Contract with City of Sand Springs for
Electronic Ticketing Mobile Solution
Electronic ticketing significantly improves police department efficiencies and officer safety
Anyware’s electronic ticketing solution selected over competing solutions currently on the market
TULSA, Okla., March 10, 2009 – MacroSolve, Inc., (OTCBB:MCVE), parent company of Anyware Mobile Solutions, announced today that it has been selected by the City of Sand Springs, Oklahoma to deliver a mobile solution for electronic ticketing of moving violations.
Upon the implementation of this five-year contract, the Sand Springs Police Department will move from writing traditional paper tickets to writing them electronically through the use of a rugged handheld computer and Anyware’s electronic ticketing software solution. Electronic ticketing dramatically reduces the time required to issue and manage tickets, while significantly improving officer safety and decreasing waste throughout the entire process.
Anyware’s electronic ticketing solution allows officers to use a rugged hand-held mobile computer to scan a drivers license bar code, automatically entering the driver’s data. The officer can enter multiple violations and capture the driver’s signature on the handheld, all in a matter of minutes. The reduced time to issue tickets decreases the minutes an officer is standing roadside, where they are exposed to unnecessary risk. In 2008, the leading cause of death among U.S. police officers was being struck by a vehicle. City revenues are increased through a reduction in unusable tickets due to manual errors on paper tickets. The reduced use of paper products and the elimination of manual data entry at ticket processing points further cuts operating costs.
Mike Carter, Assistant Chief of Police for the Sands Springs Police Department stated, “This is a revolutionary step for our department. It will improve officer safety and driver inconvenience by minimizing the time a vehicle is stopped along the roadside to issue a ticket. It will also allow us to use our administrative resources more prudently and effectively.”
“We looked at other electronic ticketing solutions and found Anyware’s no-frills approach to this product to be the best fit for our city. We appreciate that the product is straight forward and easy to use. We’re all the more pleased to be working with an Oklahoma-based technology company with a long history in mobile software development,” Carter added.
“As cities and states across America are facing tightening budgets we are very pleased to implement mobile technology that is beneficial from the first day of its implementation. Sand Springs is clearly progressive in its adoption of technology and will serve as a pilot as other police departments across Oklahoma and the U.S. consider electronic ticketing as a means to increase safety and efficiency,” stated MacroSolve President and CEO, Clint Parr.
